Time to be agile and adaptable

If ever there was a time to be agile and adapt, it’s now. Crises create opportunities in industries that have been both directly and indirectly affected. Consider what’s currently happening in the workplace, it raises a number of questions:

* Is remote working here to stay?
* Will we be able to successfully manage our supply chains?
* Will Australia fill its gaps in both skilled and unskilled labour?
* Can we create a more sustainable economy by developing manufacturing?
* Can we create new industries for the future?

In Darwin’s Theory of Evolution, adaptation is the ability to adapt to changes in the environment and adjust accordingly over time. Natural selection favours adaptability. It’s not necessarily the strongest that survives, it’s those most responsive to change.

As a nation we need to be responsive and work together on the front foot. Ultimately, whether it’s in business or personal, if we stay the same, do the same things and act in the same ways we will not achieve the progress we need to make to succeed in the future.
