What makes a great client?
The relationship between client and supplier is key to successful business. Based on her 30 years of experience, our CEO Jody Rowe, identifies her five tips for good client/supplier relationships:
- Communicate, communicate, communicate – be sure to return phone calls, respond to emails and turn up to meetings. Good suppliers have a choice, and good clients are the goal.
- Take time to understand each other’s point of view – business is a two-way street.
- Respect your workforce – in some instances up to 90% of the workforce are contractors and the pool is shrinking.
- Have integrity and deal with your suppliers openly and honestly – in other words don’t poach and smile!
- Running small businesses can be tough and deep market knowledge is key. Small entrepreneurial businesses are the creators – they are the backbone of Australia. And we don’t want to lose them!
