Happy birthday to us!
This month sees Rowe Advisory celebrate its 9th Anniversary! In December 2013, after more than 30 years as a commercial contracts and procurement specialist for multinationals such as BG Group-QGC, Santos and Rio Tinto, our CEO Jody Rowe made the decision to pursue her dream of starting her own consultancy business.
Jody comments, “Starting a business was extremely daunting, but at the same time exciting and exhilarating too. Succeeding as a small business owner is tough and there’s no shortage of pitfalls along the way! Success is not about luck – it’s about hard work, resilience and persistence. Working in consultancy is about people trusting your thinking, competing and demonstrating added value. It’s about spotting those new opportunities, developing relationships and meeting many, many people along the way. 2022 has been a challenging year with the ending of restrictions on both businesses and individuals during the pandemic, and the impact of significant changes in commodity prices. For small businesses the pandemic was particularly challenging and we have to congratulate them for surviving.
Jody continues, “I’ve always been passionate about diversity and the active inclusion of women in the oil & gas, and mining industries. Setting up Rowe Advisory allowed me to champion women working in traditionally male dominated environments. We’re proud to have championed diversity in the workplace over the last nine years and will continue to do so”.
From starting out as an idea on a piece of paper, Rowe Advisory has gone from strength to strength. We now have bases in the UK, and across Australia in Perth, Brisbane and Adelaide. We work with businesses across the globe from the USA, Canada, Europe, Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.
Not only have we expanded in terms of location but also the industries we work with. These range from agriculture, food processing, rail and government, to oil and gas, construction, mining and renewables. Our goal is to help businesses with their processes, procedures, strategy, sourcing, recruitment and contract management.
Rowe Advisory is built on authenticity, respect, genuineness and delivering successful results and we plan to continue our growth in a focussed, disciplined and managed way. We are powered by industry talent and love a challenge.
