We are delighted to announce that our CEO, Jody Rowe, was at the forefront in pledging a donation to Sight For All’s ‘Train An Eye Specialist’ program. Sight For All is a not-for-profit organisation that raises vital funds to deliver eye health care projects free of chargeto Australian communities and low income countries. It’s mission is to reduce the magnitude and impact of avoidable blindness through research, education, health promotion and the support of infrastructure.
This charity is close to our companies heart – Jody is a Sight For All Board Director and active supporter having seen first-hand the impact of funds raised made during her trip to Bhutan for ‘Trek for Sight’ last year. This year marks Sight For All’s 10thbirthday and they are marking this occasion by stepping up their mission to restore sight and prevent blindness in some of the poorest countries in the world. By using the powerful tool of education, Sight For All have a sustainable solution in sight. In the last decade Sight For All’s achievements include:
- 86 Fellows trained
- 8 eye specialists trained by Fellows
- 221 eye specialists upskilled
- Over 700 allied eye health workers educated
Sight For All’s sustainable education model has very real lifestyle and economic benefits for individuals, families, communities and countries. The eye health sector reports that for every $1 invested in eye health, $4 is generated in economic growth. The benefits for individuals and communities also include increased opportunities for education, employment, improved self-esteem and quality of life and reduced poverty. From a whole country and community perspective, the result is stronger national health systems and economies.
For just $35 per month, you can help Sight For All provide sustainable education for the future.
