The team at Rowe Advisory are needing to stock up on their winter jackets as we’ve launch in Melbourne! What isn’t to love about this city – thriving cultural lifestyle, world class infrastructure and home to some of the best universities in the world. We have written a short list of seven reasons why we see Melbourne as an opportunity to keep growing!
1 – Strong Economy
The Melbourne and Victorian economy is quite strong due to the diversity of the businesses there. A broad base in agriculture, manufacturing, finance and a strong services sector help to keep the economy moving and growing. The diversity of Melbourne’s economy and history of prosperity and growth across many industries is one reason why Australia was able to weather the 2009 global financial crisis and achieve its status as the 12th largest economy in the world. These Victorian-based companies are world-renowned leaders in their field, either globally or in Australia: BHP Billiton, Computershare, ANZ, CSL, NAB and Telstra.
2 – Lifestyle
Melbourne is one of the most liveable cities in the world. It is easy to get around, has world class infrastructure, is cheaper than other major global cities to live and work plus it has a really vibrant food, culture and arts scene.
3 – Distinct Precincts
From the narrowest laneway to Melbourne’s grandest boulevard, each of Melbourne’s unique precincts presents a distinct range of business opportunities. The largest proportion of the advanced manufacturing sector in the City of Melbourne is concentrated at Fisherman’s Bend on the south-western edge of the central city. Melbourne has world class infrastructure and is situated right on the harbour for easy access to the world through Port Melbourne, as well as an international airport with access to all major Asian, Middle Eastern and European destinations multiple times per day.
4 – Education
Melbourne has some of the best Universities and R&D Hubs in Australia which lends itself to collaboration and a highly skilled workforce.
5 – Culturally diverse
Melbourne has a broad cultural make-up which brings great food but also new thoughts on global business, access to international investment and diversity to the workplace.
6 – Advanced manufacturing
Victorian food manufacturing is spread across the state but often around hubs such as the Goulburn Valley where agricultural production is centred. This allows food businesses access to some of the best produce Australia has to offer right on it’s doorstep.
7 – Coffee
You will never get a bad coffee in Melbourne. The team at Rowe Advisory are very thankful for that – they LOVE their coffee.
