Defining Moments in Our Career

There are some defining moments in our careers that you can often miss as a milestone, either because you don’t see them as important at the time or you are focused on other things. It’s time you took a moment to celebrate all the interesting parts of your career and reflect on your great achievements….
- Someone inspires you… (the fuse is lit and away you go on your career)
- You got the job, the one you always wanted (and proved your careers advisor wrong…YES!)
- You got the promotion, because you deserve it (did you get the pay rise as well?)
- Now as a manager you build your team around you, you inspire them to be the best they can
- You had to let someone go (this is the hardest part of the role)
- Your boss gives you a problem and you solve the IMPOSSIBLE (You are a legend)
- You made a mistake, learn the lesson
- One of your team has a crisis in their life and you are there to support them
- You begin to anticipate problems and fix them before they occur (the crystal balls still working…)
- You inspire someone to do great things (and watch as they grow)
- Your Team succeeds above all expectations and you are in awe of what they can achieve
- You become a mentor to someone because you see a bit of yourself in them
- You train someone to replace you
- You develop you own unique leadership style and own it
- Life knocks you down, you get up again with the resolve to fight on
- You mend that broken relationship because you realise its people that matter above all else
- You give back because you can
- Have faith in your journey. Everything has happened exactly as it has to get you to where you are today
- So where to next? (remember, you can achieve anything you want … if you want it bad enough)
